TrekMedics and Beacon Dispatch Software Update with Jason Friesen

Jason Friesen from TrekMedics International joins us again on the Disaster Podcast. He is the founder and executive director of the non-profit organization. He recently sent out an update to those who support the organization about their Beacon software for first responders.

Beacon is a do-it-yourself emergency dispatch solution for organizations that alerts, tracks and coordinates responders using any mobile phone, with or without internet. By using existing SMS messaging services, the software can be used to send out alerts and receive back dispatch and response data from providers in the field.

Now Beacon has expanded beyond the emergency services areas and is now used by all sorts of emergency and behavioral crisis response organizations.
