When weather attacks or seems to do so, it can be difficult to gather response in a timely fashion. In this episode of the Disaster Podcast, we chat with meteorologist Dan DePodwin and disaster emergency management expert Becky DePodwin about recent severe weather impacts that caused more than two dozen deaths in the U.S.
May was a very active tornado month across the U.S. with many communities struck by severe storms. We talk about responder preparedness and the readiness of responder families as well as general community resilience.
Dan also discusses the recent severe turbulence event that struck a Singapore Airlines flight causing numerous injuries and one death in flight.
Dozens of actors played the roles of the patients strewn around. Two of the mock-patients included our show regulars Becky and Dan DePodwin. Also on the show were co-hosts Sam Bradley and Jamie Davis.
