When disasters strike, technology can help disaster teams leverage expertise at a distance to manage survivors and patients. On today’s podcast we have Dr. Erika Havelka, with IDMC and Dr. Jarone Lee with Health Tech Without Borders.
Dr. Havelka is and emergency medicine physician as well as a disaster response volunteer with IDMC, where she serves as Chief of International Operations. Her most recent efforts involve organizing mobile telemedicine clinics in Ukraine.
Dr. Lee is with Health Tech without borders. He’s an emergency medicine and ICU doctor in Boston, Massachusetts. He is active with MA-1 DMAT team. He is also one of the cofounders of Health Tech Without Borders.
National Emergency Tele-Critical Care Project is a federal program that provided ICU expert advice via telehealth to community hospitals without critical care and ICU beds during the pandemic.
