Protecting our pets is important to all of us. So why do we not include them in our preparedness planning for our families? In this episode of the Disaster Podcast we look at pet preparedness in the face of disasters, what the law says at the federal level about pets and evacuations, and how responders can better prepare for pet evacuation alongside their owners. We bring on Ricky Burgess, a Captain with the Greenville, South Carolina Fire Department, and a South Carolina state USAR team member.
On the show this week are co-hosts Sam Bradley, disaster weather emergency manager, Becky DePodwin, Sarah Frances McClure, DO, NRP, and Jamie Davis.
