Can you learn something from a Hollywood disaster film like “San Andreas?” We’ll look at that as we review the film this week on the Disaster Podcast. Host Jamie Davis, the Podmedic is joined by his co-host Sam Bradley (who lives in northern California) and Dr. Joe Holley (who lives in Memphis on the New Madrid Fault Line) to talk about and review the film starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
All of us agreed that you had to suspend disbelief a bit as you have to for any Hollywood blockbuster action film. Jamie said that you have to give them permission to be over the top with effects and situations. It is meant to be entertaining and not a documentary. Still there were some important lessons to be learned from this film and it hopefully built awareness for people to think about what they’d do in a similar disaster situation. Check out the show for the whole play by play commentary (Spoiler Alerts Abound).
