In this week’s episode, we chat with our regular dispatcher and disaster weather expert, Kyle Nelson. Kyle fulfilled several roles covering the response aspects of the 2020 Winter X-Games in Aspen, Colorado.

He shares a look behind the scenes on preplanning for the event that brings an additional 100,000 people into a county that has fewer than 30,000 year-round residents. This puts a strain on all aspects of the first responder community and requires planning and partnerships with other local, state, and federal resources to pull off.
