Where Do Training Cadavers Come From?

cadaver labIn this week’s episode, we look at a topic we’ve mentioned many times here on the Disaster Podcast over the last few years, but we have never really defined what we are talking about. I am referring to the use of cadavers for training and education in disaster and medical response.

When we refer to the Paragon Medical Education Group’s “Experiential Training” we are talking about the unique situations they create through the use of real human tissue for training purposes. In this episode, Dr. Joe Holley from Paragon shares some information about the source of the team’s cadavers and the very special gift they represent to help us all have a better chance of surviving a major medical event in our lives.

Paragon Brings “The Experience”

Paragon Medical Education Group specializes in bringing what they call “The Experience” to jurisdictions around the country. They bring together police, fire, EMS, and hospital teams to train together and learn what to expect from each diverse group in the response team so that each knows what to expect from the other and how to back the other groups up. Visit Paragon’s site at ParagonMedicalGroup.com for more information on how this can be brought into your system.
