This week on the Disaster Podcast we talk about the recent torrential rains and flooding that occurred in Texas and Oklahoma last week that caused many deaths and devastated widespread areas of the country. Joining host Jamie Davis, the Podmedic on the show is co-host and Paramedic Sam Bradley freshly returned from her trip to Scotland. Also on the show is Dr. Joe Holley from Paragon Medical Education Group and Memphis EMS.
Flooding Claims Responder’s Life
Last week, the flooding claimed many lives including the life of an Oklahoma first responder involved in rescue activities. We talk about the inherent dangers in disaster response for civilians and responders alike. What can we in the response community do to better prepare ourselves for these events when they occur and how can we prepare our families for these situations, too? We’ll talk about that on this week’s episode of the show.
