Working With State Disaster Resources, a Chat With Missouri’s Dr. Brian Froelke

tornado-damage-severe-stormIn this episode of the Disaster Podcast, hosts Jamie Davis, the Podmedic and Sam Bradley are joined by Dr. Brian Froelke. Brian is the Chief Medical Officer for the Missouri State Disaster Response System and an assistant professor of emergency medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Brian chats with Jamie and Sam about his experience as the Medical Director of the state Disaster Response System.

State resources are often deployed well before federal resources can be brought to bear on a disaster scene. Because of that, these state teams often make a huge difference in the first 48 to 72 hours, the time before Federal teams are expected to begin deploying.
